About The Wine
Tenuta Tre Gemme sits in the heart of Abruzzo, where tradition and sustainability drive every decision. Seventy hectares of organic vineyard climb 350 to 450 meters above sea level, tended by the Perrucci family since the early 1960s when father Rocco consolidated the land and built the winery's core. In 2018, daughters Carla and Anna took over, launching a major restructuring in 2020 that sharpened the estate's focus on Abruzzo's great varietals: Montepulciano, Pecorino, and Passerina.
This Terroir Line Pecorino comes from Terra dei Vestini, one of the most prestigious sub-zones of the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC. The vineyards are split across two plots close enough that harvest-to-crush happens in minutes, preserving freshness and intensity. Meticulous winemaking and modern technology yield a clean, elegant, contemporary style that never sacrifices the region's soul.Pecorino is Abruzzo's white answer to serious Mediterranean whites—mountain fruit with grip and nerve, built to drink now or hold. This one doesn't shout. It accurately expresses the depth and authenticity of the region's tradition, focused and honest.
Tasting Notes
100% Pecorino from the estate's highest parcel at Civitaquana, 450 metres, pebbly-calcareous soil. Pale, luminous straw. Tropical fruit and citrus over white flowers, with a faint nutty edge. Dry, fresh and finely balanced, with real saline drive on the finish. Stainless steel throughout with brief skin contact. Serve at 46–52°F.
Critic Reviews
The nose blooms with aromas of yellow apple, Bosc pear and lemon. More tree fruit and citrus notes greet you on the palate, while nutty, savory undertones provide balance. A tart, bright, fresh wine. ~90 Wine Enthusiast
