Franco Boasso has quietly become one of Serralunga d'Alba's most reliable producers — traditional pricing, no hype, just serious Barolo from some of the commune's best-regarded vineyards. The family farms plots in Gabutti, Margheria, and Lazzarito, among others, and keeps the operation small and focused.

This is their straight Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba — the village bottling that represents the soul of the commune. Serralunga sits on the eastern edge of the Barolo zone, where the soils are iron-rich and the wines lean toward structure, power, and longevity. This is Nebbiolo built for the cellar, not for instant gratification.

The 2022 vintage was notoriously drought-stricken with minimal winter rainfall — a hot, dry year that concentrated the fruit and delivered wines with intensity and grip. Grapes were hand-picked in mid-October, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel with frequent pumping over for 15-20 days, then aged three years in new 25-hectoliter oak barrels. The wine is never filtered and gets additional bottle age before release.
