About the Wine

"Super Tuscans" are anarchic and revolutionary wines, wines that are not following the traditional winemaking in the region’s DOC and DOCG. Instead of using the classic grape of the region: Sangiovese, these wines are mainly made with grapes used for “Bordeaux Blends”, Cabernet Sauvignon, and/or Merlot. In some cases, Super Tuscans are even better than DOC and DOCG wines, but because of their “rebellion” they have to be classified in lower categories such as "Vino da Tavola" or "Indicazione Geografica Tipica" (IGT).

The 2021 vintage was absolutely legendary—Wine Spectator exploded with a 99-point score and declared: "This might be the best vintage in Tuscany's modern era."

Corte Medicea is the Tuscan project that's turning heads. This distinguished estate operates under La Bollina, a renowned Piedmontese trading company that knows serious wine. They're not chasing trends or playing it safe—they're making wines with serious character that hit different. Sitting pretty on rolling hills with perfect clay-loam soils at 380-400 meters in southern Tuscany, their vineyards are in the sweet spot where magic happens.

Their celebrated consultant Andrea Bernardini is absolutely legit. This winemaking master has experience spanning Tuscany, South Africa, Romania, and Greece—trained at big-name estates like Poggio Bonelli and Ruffino and took his skills global across continents. He knows how to blend old-school Tuscan tradition with modern innovation to create wines that actually taste amazing and cost way less than they should. This is your chance to get premium Tuscan wine before everyone else figures it out. Trust us—you'll want multiple bottles of this one.

Aging: 12 months in French oak barrels

Tasting Notes

25% Sangiovese, 25% Canaiolo, 25% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose, a delightful blend of spices and liquorice mingles with hints of currants and wildberries. The palate reveals a full-bodied wine with smooth tannins, offering a long, lingering taste of red fruits, pepper, and chocolate.
