About the Wine
In the world of wine, some stories truly inspire, and Casa Marin's journey is one of these.
María Luz Marin, the first female winemaker and winery owner in Chile, dared to dream beyond boundaries. Against all odds, she established Casa Marin in Lo Abarca, a small town in the San Antonio Valley. Her vision was to create exceptional wines, and she succeeded brilliantly. María Luz's agronomic and winemaking expertise, combined with her audacity, resulted in a winery that has garnered international acclaim for its high-quality wines.
Following in his mother's footsteps, Felipe Marin is the talented winemaker and viticulturist at Casa Marin. With a global perspective on winemaking, Felipe brings a fresh approach to crafting outstanding wines. His dedication to sustainability and innovation keeps Casa Marin at the forefront of Chilean winemaking.
Cartagena Pinot Noir is Casa Marin's most celebrated range. Each bottle is a masterpiece, consistently earning +90 pts. from renowned critics Robert Parker and James Suckling. The grapes are hand-picked and meticulously sorted, resulting in a wine that boasts full-bodied complexity and a vibrant acidity.
Casa Marin produces four distinct Pinot Noirs from different vineyard blocks in Lo Abarca. Cartagena Pinot Noir stands out as the most fruity and fresh of the quartet. It's crafted from grapes grown in clay soils, harvested two weeks earlier than the others. This results in a wine that's bursting with fruitiness and freshness.
The 2019 Cartagena Pinot Noir was meticulously crafted. Hand-harvested, the grapes were carefully sorted to ensure only the finest fruit was used. A unique approach included 25% of the grapes undergoing whole cluster carbonic maceration, resulting in a wine with depth and character.

Reviews
The 2019 Pinot Noir Cartagena from Lo Abarca, San Antonio, is ruby red in color with aromas of spice, damp earth and a whiff of blood, while in the mouth it’s smooth and silky, displaying mild tension and medium depth. A satisfying wine. ~91 Vinous Media
